Resilience and Remembrance: Second-Generation Narratives in the Aftermath of the Bosnian Genocide

This exhibit explores the cultural identity and community solidarity amongst second-generation Bosnian immigrants. It focuses on the interviews of Bekir Hodzic and Erna Alic, highlighting the stories and history they heard from parents and other relatives who experienced the Bosnian genocide first-hand. The exhibit highlights the impact of history on second-generation Bosnians, indirect trauma faced, as well as their own personal experiences and artifacts that  hold deep meaning to them. The exhibition includes metadata from the ICTY archives to highlight the historical aspects of each story, personal documents and artifacts from each individual, and references to oral history interviews.
